Plan and Install Landscape Lighting on Brighton Way in Avon, CT
We designed lighting to accent this home’s natural architectural details and landscaping. In homes with mature landscaping already in place we will most often use low voltage designs, so as to minimize damage to root systems when we excavate to install the wiring. With today’s LED technology we can achieve most lighting affects with 12 volt systems. A benefit of LED lamps and their low consumption, is reduced wiring, transformer and component needs, along with a lower cost to operate.
This design featured 2700 Kelvin General Electric MR 16 12 volt lamps. A stainless steel transformer & landscape cable run in the planting beds powered up the fixtures mounted with RAB post mounts.
This homeowner chose a “set it and forget it” approach, eliminating DST or microchip concerns associated with some controls. Lights come on with a photo cell and off with an analog timer all located right at the transformer for easy access and maintenance.
Lower input cost, lower electric bill, lower maintenance. Good design!
